NEW SECTION.Section
1. Short title. [Sections 1 through 7] may be cited as the
"Montana Firearms Freedom Act".
NEW SECTION.Section
2. Legislative declarations of authority. The legislature
declares that the authority for [sections 1 through 7] is the
following:
(1) The 10th
amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the states
and their people all powers not granted to the federal government
elsewhere in the constitution and reserves to the state and people
of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time that
Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those
powers is a matter of contract between the state and people of
Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with
the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the
United States in 1889

Washington State Introduces
Claim to State Sovereignty
Legislatures in
Washington State
have introduced legislation claiming state sovereignty. This
legislation sends a strong message that many believe the 10th
Amendment still stands.by Gary Wood
(conservative libertarian)
Wednesday, February 4, 2009
The legislation was first read a few days ago, on
January 30th. It was then referred to the Committee on
State Government and Tribal Affairs. While some will claim it has
little chance of passing we cannot underplay the importance of the
message it sends to the country. Washington State legislators have
joined with New
Hampshire legislators in putting our original form of a
Federalist Republic in the forefront of thought at a critical time
in our history.
Reading through "House
Joint Memorial 4009" is like taking a ride through the history
of the 10th Amendment. There are praises for the
contribution by stating in lines 17 through 19, "WHEREAS, Federalism
is the constitutional division of powers between the national and
state governments and is widely regarded as one of America's most
valuable contributions to political science;" and goes on to quote
the words of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander
Hamilton. Two potential side benefits are a must read for all
political science classes and a great foundation for high school
debate teams even if their legislation never leaves committee.

Alternative media activist Alex Jones
spoke about the issue of state
sovereignty-- over 20 states have passed
or proposed resolutions to maintain the
10th Amendment which asserts states'
rights not expressly delegated to the
federal government. Specifically, he
said the US govt. had become intrusive
to individual states in their policies
on such issues as medical marijuana,
home schooling, and gun control.
Appearing during the latter half of the
show, author Jerome Corsi said we were
witnessing the beginning of a new
movement sweeping the country with
states fed up with the federal level of
fiscal irresponsibility.
Joining the show in brief segments were
Representatives Matt Shea, Jim Guest,
Dan Itse, & Charles Key who described
sovereignty efforts in their home
states. Shea of Washington state, said
they were sending a message, telling the
Feds to back off. Jim Guest of Missouri
cited the Real I.D. act as being
particularly problematic.
Jones suggested the union was already
gone and that America has been sold out
to foreign banks. States have the right
to dissolve the federal government in
order to reconstitute it, he added. Both
Corsi and Jones pointed toward a
non-democratic globalist effort they
believe is stealthily moving ahead with
its plan for a world government/economy.

State Sovereignty is Starting to Steamroll From The Constitution Party
States Tell Feds: "Back Off!"
Legislatures Cite 10th Amendment In Strong
Reminder To D.C.
Lancaster, PA (February 7, 2009) A growing number
of state legislatures across the country have put the federal
government on notice that the United States Constitution gives
states the authority to say: "Thus far and no farther!"
Bills introduced in states, including Washington,
Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Arizona, defend state
sovereignty as guaranteed by the 10th Amendment to the United States
Constitution which states: .... The powers not delegated to the
United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the
states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The Constitution Party supports and encourages the
effort of individual states to re-affirm that the U.S. Constitution
explicitly guarantees certain rights cannot be usurped by the
federal government. "The state sovereignty movement is picking up
steam," noted Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim
Clymer. "The duopoly that controls our federal government has gotten
out of hand. Republicans and Democrats alike have been guilty of
trampling states' rights for generations. Finally, elected officials
in state legislatures across the country are pushing back," Clymer
added.
D.C.'s blatant disregard for the Constitution has
raised the hackles of responsible elected state officials. The
effort to restore State Sovereignty is gaining momentum.

NEW YORK – As the Obama administration attempts
to push through Congress a nearly $1 trillion deficit spending
plan that is weighted heavily toward advancing typically
Democratic-supported social welfare programs, a rebellion
against the growing dominance of federal control is beginning to
spread at the state level.
Analysts expect that in addition, another 20
states may see
similar measures introduced this year, including Alaska,
Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho,
Indiana, Kansas, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania.
